# fold > The enterprise MCP gateway. One governed endpoint between every MCP (Model Context Protocol) client and every MCP server: federation, auth, policy, tenancy, budgets, and audit, built on the official MCP Go SDK on both sides of the proxy. fold presents any number of upstream MCP servers as one virtual server. It is a single static Go binary, Apache-2.0, and passes 40/40 of the official MCP conformance checks on every merge. Deploy it as a binary, a container, or a Helm chart. ## Documentation - [Getting started](https://docs.fold.run/getting-started/): run a governed endpoint in 60 seconds. - [Configuration](https://docs.fold.run/configuration/): every field, validated at load. - [Architecture](https://docs.fold.run/architecture/): the request pipeline, end to end. - [Security model](https://docs.fold.run/security/): auth, policy, audit, and credential brokering. - [llms.txt for the docs](https://docs.fold.run/llms.txt): the full documentation index, and [llms-full.txt](https://docs.fold.run/llms-full.txt) for the whole corpus as one file. ## Try it - [Live demo](https://fold.run/#demo): three public MCP servers federated behind one endpoint. - [Live console](https://demo.fold.run/console/): watch calls resolve through the gateway. - [Governed gateway](https://enterprise.fold.run/console/): the same demo with auth, policy and audit switched on. ## Writing - [One bucket, not ten: tenancy in an MCP gateway](https://fold.run/blog/tenancy-one-bucket/): A tenant groups principals and governs them as one. The line the design holds above all is that it never authenticates them. Budgets charge narrowest-first, rate limits check widest-first, and ambiguity is refused rather than resolved. - [Federating MCP tasks: affinity routing over opaque ids](https://fold.run/blog/federating-mcp-tasks/): The MCP tasks extension standardized long-running work — and task ids outlive any session. Putting one gateway in front of N task-running servers forces an ownership problem, and the solution generalizes. - [Changelog](https://fold.run/changelog/): what shipped, newest first; latest is v1.15.0. ## Optional - [Source](https://github.com/fold-run/fold): the gateway, Apache-2.0. - [Feed](https://fold.run/rss.xml)
