Getting started with Fold Agent

Fold gives every workspace an AI agent that remembers your preferences, manages your calendar and tasks, sends emails on your behalf, and reaches you on any channel. This guide walks you through initial setup.

What the agent can do

  • Chat -- ask questions, brainstorm, or give instructions via the dashboard, Telegram, Discord, Slack, SMS, or the API.
  • Remember -- the agent automatically extracts facts, preferences, and events from your conversations and stores them for future context.
  • Calendar and tasks -- create events, track to-do items, and get daily briefings.
  • Reminders -- set one-time or recurring reminders delivered to any linked channel.
  • Email -- draft and send emails with your approval.
  • Automations -- define routines (recurring prompts on a schedule) and webhook triggers that act on external events.

Setting up your agent

Open your workspace in the dashboard at app.fold.run/console and navigate to Agent.

Name and personality

Click Agent Profile to define your agent's identity. The agent profile is a structured text that shapes how the agent thinks and communicates. A sensible default is provided, but you can customize it:

  • Identity -- give your agent a name and describe its role.
  • Values -- set communication style (concise, formal, playful, etc.).
  • Boundaries -- specify actions that require explicit approval, such as sending emails or scheduling meetings with others.

Choose an AI model

Under Settings, select the model that powers your agent. Available models are listed on the AI models page. The default model works well for general use; switch to a larger model if you need stronger reasoning.

Sending your first message

In the dashboard, open the Chat tab and type a message. The agent responds using your agent profile personality and any memories it has about you.

Try asking it to create a task or set a reminder to see tool usage in action.
